TR3
is one of Western Canada's premier dance bands, providing
professional musical entertainment for a variety of events and
functions in the Calgary and Banff area.
Formed in '88,
TR3, these experienced pros, shaped and honed their R&B
based sound in the clubs of Calgary, Banff and Canmore. Strong
vocals, backbeat and instrumentation characterized their instantly
successful sound.
Co-operative,
reliable, and accommodating, TR3 puts every party planner at ease,
accurately reading the audience and presenting just the right mix of
songs at the appropriate volume in full HI-FI stereo. From authentic
AC-DC to slick Sinatra, this energetic act enjoys playing to a
packed dance floor and won't have it any other way!
TR3 has
enjoyed the rarified success of being able to concentrate strictly
on the one-nighter events in and around Calgary and Banff for a
number of years and intends to continue working hard to maintain
their 1st call status!

The
Musicians
That
is Ted Woodhouse behind the keyboards
of TR3. He plays the keys, bass and acoustic guitar. Ted also
contributes a good share of those lead vocals people rave about. He
sings everything from Paul Simon to Sinatra to George Strait. Much
of TR3's big lush sound is the direct result of his sequencing
mastery as well as his tireless effort to provide superb front-end
sound through the band's top- flight p.a. system.
Ted moved out west from Toronto to pursue his goal of being a
professional musician. His band, the Sailcats, worked around Calgary
for many years with great success and a lasting reputation.
He then focused on creating the ultimate party band. You guessed
it...TR3, providing great music and entertainment for any age group,
any occasion and any venue.
Ted makes his base in Canmore, Alberta and he will be the voice at
the other end of the connection when you call for your convention,
club date, wedding or cabaret. He is the "T" in TR3.
Roly
Sandoval is TR3's man on the guitar, and an original
member of the band. Trends in all aspects of the music and
entertainment business keep on changing and Roly has been
instrumental in ensuring that TR3 stays in the groove. Having been
an integral part of the growth and development of the band, he has
helped set its high standard of commitment to quality entertainment
and client satisfaction.
Roly is a long-time Calgarian, by way of Chicago, Illinois. Since
beginning his professional career at an early age, he now has almost
three decades of experience to his craft. In TR3 Roly plays lead and
rhythm guitar and handles some of the vocal work. His well-rounded
ability on guitar lends authenticity to every style of song in the
band's diverse musical bag. He is a key part in the harmony and
excitement of TR3's presentation.
" I love to play guitar… TR3 loves to keep you dancing and
smiling, so to me it's the best" R.S.
He
is a veteran of the formative stages of 'Canadian Rock' and has
worked alongside some of the biggest names in the business -meet Billy
McBeth.
Billy is TR3's drummer as well as one of the strong lead vocalists
in the band. He brings a wealth of history, know-how and humour into
the mix on stage. His natural ability to keep the heart of the music
beating while delivering the vocal is simply 'simultaneous'.
Seriously though, Billy is a showman, singing and playing drums, and
knows how to capture the spotlight while keeping your interest.
Well-respected in the Calgary scene, Billy 'learned the ropes' of
the music industry in Winnipeg and Vancouver. He played in The
Nocturnals and Scrubbaloe Caine, both famous bands in their own
right. His years of work on the big stage bring integrity and
professionalism to TR3, Rock, Blues, Funk, Big Band and Country - he
does it all!
The
saxophone is yet another key to what sets TR3 apart from the rest.
The sax rounds out the already diverse capabilities of this solid
unit. It adds a soaring edge to rock 'n' roll and a cool shine on a
slick groove. It puts the punch into the big band tunes and spices
up the Latin dance songs.
Friendly Joe Ernewein plays the mean
sax in TR3. Three years with this band, he is the "new
guy" and loves to show you he knows what he's doing. Whether
it's playing sax, EWI (electronic wind instrument) or percussion,
Joe is on the job and comes to work.
Joe makes Canmore, Alberta his home. Since arriving from Woodstock,
Ontario, years ago, he has performed with many of the Bow Valley's
musicians and is well known from Calgary to Jasper...he might know
somebody in Edmonton!
People love the saxophone and Joe delivers it with exciting
craftsmanship when he takes the stage...in fact, he might have even
built the stage... like TR3, Joe Ernewein does it all.
